What's
New?
|
|
|
December
30: Booked my first gig at the new location of Picasso's,
101 N Main Street in Old Town St Charles. While a little smaller
than the original Picasso's, this is smack in the middle of
a fine dining and nightlife area. So catch a rush hour show
or early dinner and then come by and see me at the new Picasso's.
See you there!

December
3: The Acoustic Rainbow sampler and my song, "No
Stone Unturned", hit 1200 radio stations this week.
I'm already starting to get a little feedback in the form of
more hits on this website and at CDBaby.
Hopefully, the airplay will explode in a vision of critical
acclaim and popular praise. Or, I could sell a few CDs. That
would be cool... Anyway, watch this space for updates. See you
out and about soon.

November
8: I forgot to mention a couple of things about two of the
places I play regularly. First, Chris Schulte of Picasso's
is in the process of opening a second location on St Charles
Main Street. Be sure to check which Picasso's to visit in the
future. Second, St
Charles Coffeehouse will begin to offer select wine and
beer by the glass this month. Stop by for a libation and tunes.

October
30: Shared the stage with Linda Lange again last
night. As always, Linda put on a great show. Keep in mind that
Linda plays in a trio as well. Musyc
plays a variety of covers ranging from the Beatles to James
Taylor to Dave Mason all with strong harmonies. Go see them
too!
|
October
11: Had a wonderful evening at Focal Point with Noah
Earle and Patsy
O'Brien! Great songs, great players, and just plain fun.
Thanks to Terry and Naomi at KCLC for letting us hang out, play
some tunes, and plug the show! But the best part of the day
was getting to know these two guys better. Good folks. Go see
them!

October
6: Last call for all you songwriter groupies/junkies!
Noah Earle,
Patsy
O'Brien, and I will inhabit the friendly climes of Focal
Point on Sunday, Oct 9 at 7PM. So, listen to the interview
on KCLC at 2PM-ish, come early for dinner at Maya Cafe, and
hear the BEST concert of the year at 7PM. Only $5! And you know
the Cards are going to end this in 3, so your evening is free.
Besides, don't you have TiVo YET? Email
me, if you don't.

September
16: Patsy, Noah, and I will be on KCLC 89.1 FM on
Sunday, Oct 9. Thanks to Terry and Naomi! More details to follow!
|
August
29: My friend and fellow songwriter, Linda Lange,
will join me at Picasso's on September 17. Linda has a warm,
lithe voice and has written some fine songs. Hey, even Bonnie
Raitt says good things about Linda, but I'll let her tell that
story. Make sure you come out for this rare occurrence.
|
August
20: Great news! My song, No Stone Unturned from Flesh,
Blood, and Bone, was accepted to be part of the Acoustic
Rainbow radio sampler CD. That means that 1200+ radio stations
throughout the world will receive the song, bio info, and contact
info. This is a big step for me in that this radio sampler series
translates directly into airplay and many industry contacts.
I'll keep you posted as things develop.

August
1: Just booked a Songwriters in the Round concert with Patsy
O'Brien and Noah
Earle at Focal Point for Sunday, October 9 at 7PM. Each
of these guys is a unique songwriter with truly original voices.
I'm really excited to be part of this event and hope you will
come out, bring Aunt Sally and Weird Cousin Frank, and buy many
CDs.
C'mon! You know you want to support this sort of aberrant musical
behavior and have been waiting for the chance. Here it is! More
details soon!
|
July
30: Taking some time off to focus on songwriting has been
a good thing. I finished two other new songs today, Archaeology
and I Know. That's three new songs this month! That
doesn't happen often. I'll be debuting each of these and a few
new covers at gigs soon.
|
July
27: Finally, here are the details for Saturday's concert:

and songwriters and is part of the U-S-A Drug Summer Concert

there!

July
7: I've been talking to Patsy
O'Brien about a possible shared concert gig in the StL
area for October. I hope to include Noah
Earle as well, if this comes together. I'll keep you
posted!
|
July
6: Talked to Ralph at Riverfront Mercantile tonight.
We have a tentative date set for October and will confirm soon...
I added a couple of links to pictures
again since some of you have asked for them. They're on the
other stuff pages.
|
July
2: As many of you know, I'm taking most of July off to focus
on finishing several new songs and learning a few new covers
as well. Well, I got at least one thing done-- a new song called
"I Know You By Heart." It's not often I write
an unabashed love song, but here you go. I'll be debuting it
at my next few gigs along with whatever else I can finish between
here and there!

June
28: I'll be part of a first-time Summer Concert Series
in Farmington, MO on July 30. For this particular show, J-98
is sponsoring seven singer-songwriters from the region in
an outdoor showcase. As the schedule stands now, I'll be fourth
of the seven and will likely be on about 8:15PM. The entire
event begins at 7PM. More details to follow soon.
|
June
18: Had a great time at Off Broadway. Met some new songwriters
and was thoroughly impressed. One in particular, Noah Earle,
is one to watch! Noah has written some great songs, has a wondeful
stage presence, and a lithe voice that really wraps around a
melody. He'll be in town on July 1 again at Off Broadway and
is in town regularly. Check him out at www.noahearle.com.
|
June
5: Had a great time with the Shy Band last night
at Picasso's! You really should make a point to get out and
hear their unique vocal arrnagements. They did a killer version
of the Beatles' Fixing a Hole! They're at Hartford Coffeehouse
pretty regularly so check them out.
|
May
15: What a great time last night at Riverfront Mercantile
in New Haven, MO! It's a funky little place that features a
wonderful assortment of wines, beer, and liquor and is truly
a listening room as well. My friend, Chris Griffith,
is playing out there on May 28, so stop by to see him. I'll
be scheduling another gig there for late summer soon.
|
April
10: Just found out that onlinefolkfestival.com
added Flesh, Blood, and Bone to their rotation in the last
few weeks. Thanks to Greg for his support! The world domination
tour continues!
Also, began talking to Terri Langerak about sharing a few
gigs this spring and summer. Updates soon!
|
March
20: What a great time last night! Jonathan
Byrd played some great story songs with strong melodies.
Oh, BTW, he's a great picker too! Unfortunately, Robin cancelled
at the last minute (I was looking forward to hearing her again),
but that gave me a little extra time to stretch out and even
play a couple of newer tunes. Thanks to all who attended.
|
February
13: Thanks for all who listened and commented during World
Wide Rich Appreciation Day! It was kind of cool to get that
level of support from radio, even if only for a day.
|
| February
9: OK, the redesign should be coming soon. With a little
luck by this weekend...
Friday,
February 11 is World Wide Rich Appreciation Day! How does
one get a special day, you ask? Thanks to Whole Wheat Radio,
a web radio station, Flesh, Blood, and Bone, will be played
in its entirety throughout the day. As a matter of fact, at
least one RichSong will be played per hour in the 24 hours
that are World Wide Rich Appreciation Day, Friday, February
11!
How does
one listen to World Wide Rich Appreciation Day? Use this link
and follow the simple directions. Technology is your friend.
Oh and if you are so inclined, you can tell them how much
YOU appreciate me too. That will keep them playing my music
therefore leading towards my ultimate goal of world domination.
And yes, there will be patronage jobs in the new world order.
;-)
Don't
forget the Songwriters in the Round gig on Feb 24!... More
gigs coming soon.

January
3: Looking back on the just retired year, I want to extend
many thanks to those who have made all the good things possible.
May the new year resound with new possibilties and pleasant
surprises!
