What's
New?
|
|
|
December
17: Things are finally returning to normal... Added a couple
of dates to the calendar including a make-up gig at St. Charles
Coffeehouse in February. Working on several possibilities at
Off Broadway including a couple of "maybe" opening
gigs in February and March 2005. If you're a fan of great acoustic-oriented
shows, check out Off
Broadway's upcoming schedule. Impressive!
|
November
6: Flu season is here and claimed me as an early casualty.
My voice took a turn south during my last gig and hasn't made
a comeback yet. Unfortunately, had to cancel my radio appearance
for November 7 on KRJJ in Farmington, MO. The host, Scott Kubala,
made sure to invite me back though. We'll find a date sometime
in December or January to do it.
|
November
4: Confirmed my concert date at Cousin Andy's in Carbondale,
IL. I'll be sharing the bill with the Laws, a great country
duo from Canada, on Friday, January 28. Be sure to catch the
Laws in St. Louis on Saturday, November 20 at Music Folk!
|
October
22: Talking to Terri Langerak about putting together a Songwriter
show over the winter... Also have a tentative date at Cousin
Andy's in Carbondale, IL in January... Talking to a venue in
Little Rock as well for winter... Farmington, MO is still pending...
Good things abound...
|
October 12: What a whirlwind! Opened for Dayna Kurtz
last Thursday evening. Dayna played a great set of blues and
torch songs. Y'all missed a good show... Then, off to the Eureka
Springs Folk Festival. Saw great performances from Emmylou Harris,
Guy Clark, and Jesse Winchester. I played Saturday night to
a very large crowd at the Basin Park Hotel. Sublime!
|
October
5: Had a great time with Terry & Naomi at KCLC on Sunday.
Terry & Naomi were gracious enough to give me about 45 minutes
of airtime including live songs, interview, and few stories.
I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Now listen every week
and request your favorite Rich song! Pictures
now available!
|
September
27: The KRJJ appearance has been set for Sunday, November
7, at 4PM. Since the station is based in Farmington, MO, only
the southside of StL will be able to catch this one.
|
September
23: I've got another radio appearance coming up on KCLC
89.1FM on October 3. I'll be on the Acoustic Edge with Terry
and Naomi sometime between 1 and 4PM. We'll talk a bit, but
will definitely play some live music too!
|
September
13: Cool things are happening! First, radio... KRJJ in Farmington,
MO has asked for a demo. If all works well, I'll be asked to
join them for a live interview and performance sometime next
month!... Next, I'll be opening for David
Davis and the Warrior River Boys in November at Focal Point.
David and the Boys have been riding the wave of their self-titled
release (Billboard charting, a positive USA Today review, a
Bluegrass Unlimited magazine feature, and more). Come hear bluegrass
at its pinnacle. I'll be decidely featuring some of my more
country side for this show!
|
September
4: I'll be playing a short set at the Greentree Festival
on September 18. This neighborhood arts & crafts festival
is one of the best in the area and has been going for over 30
years. Check it out and then stop by to hear me at 4PM. Located
at Kirkwood Park.
|
September
1: CD Baby is now live! Use this link
to buy Flesh, Blood, and Bone online or listen to song samples.
Make sure to check out links for other independent musicians
as well.
|
September
1: There have been some changes in the line-up and performance
times for the Folkathon this weekend. I'll be playing with Joe
Bigham at 6PM on Saturday, September 4 and solo at 7PM on Sunday,
September 5.
|
August
31: Got some nibbles in radio for the new CD. Stations in
Carbondale, IL, Farmington, MO, and Columbia, MO are all considering
airplay. KDHX in St Louis has already begun airplay.
|
August
29: Just agreed to open for Dayna Kurtz at Off Broadway
on October 7. Dayna has written some amazing songs, interprets
others with an impeccable vision, and was recently profiled
on NPR.
Her personal web is www.daynakurtz.com.
I am stoked about this one!
|
August
26: I'll be playing my first out-of-town gig in quite awhile,
the Basin Park Hotel in Eureka Springs, AR. Playing the hotel
is cool enough in that it's a century-old grand hotel, but even
better is it's during the annual Eureka Springs Folk Festival!
Emmylou Harris, Guy Clark, and Jesse Winchester will all be
in town for this festival.
|
August
25: A benefit for the Kidney Foundation and local artist,
Jenni Joerger, will take place all Labor Day Weekend at Llywelyn's
Pub in the CWE. I'll be playing Saturday night with Joe Bigham
and solo on Sunday. Here's the official press release.
|
August
17: Had a great time playing with Joe Bigham last night.
We shared a gig for the River Styx Poetry group. We did a combination
of my tunes, a few of Joe's, and select covers. Weirdness did
abound... I ran into someone I hadn't seen in 17 years and Joe
played "One Bread, One Body" for a parishioner who
recognized him from his Sunday AM gig!
|
August
12: OK, we're a little late, but it's finally here! "Flesh,
Blood, and Bone" is now available. Until I can get the
shopping cart set-up, please order via email. I CAN take a credit
card, but you'll need to include the name on the card, card
number, expiration date, and your actual order in the email.
I appreciate the support!
|
July
26: CD Update! Looks like we'll be a few days late, but
the new CD "Flesh, Blood, and Bone" will be available
very soon. I'm working on a shopping cart for the website so
I can accept credit cards, but in the meantime send me an email
if you want to buy it. We'll work out details that way.
|
June
19: Opened for the Grace Sisters and had a great time. Be
sure to check out their website
too... Got a number of positive comments from new fans after
the show. New gigs are starting to come a little faster now
too, now that I'm out playing with some regularity.
|
June
3: Had all previous sessions recorded at Music Masters studios
mastered. Have been reviewing them and will package my ARA songs
and other demo sessions into a single CD. I hope to have it
ready by July.
|
May
4: Sadly, the Arcadian Cafe is closing. I spoke with Cody
who felt it was time for a different direction in her life.
So those gigs are canceled... Get out and support those businesses
that include music!
|
March
6: Song Circle of Friends was broadcast today. I don't care
what anyone says, it's still weird to hear your own songs on
the radio.
|
February
28: Played Clint Harding's Song Circle of Friends today.
Great experience. Met Mike Miller and Barb Soetebier, two local
songwriters, and shared the stage with them. Debuted a new song,
You Just Go On, and got a very positive response. The show will
be broadcast on Saturday, March 6 at approximately 8:30AM.
